Viroqua Middle School Athletics—7th Grade Girls Basketball— 2010Dear Parent(s) or Student Guardian(s):
I am pleased to have the opportunity to coach your student-athlete. I am a retired small company manager who moved to Viroqua a bit over a year ago. Although I’ve lived in just about every major region of our nation, I spent the last twenty-years living outside of San Diego in a small town not unlike Viroqua, called Ramona.
I raised two athletic sons, and coached a decade of youth league basketball. I enjoy coaching. My aim is to have your student-athlete learn to love the game. This requires learning the game, first, and that requires dedication and practice. I look forward to the season, and I hope that you can attend the games. Practices are also open.
As part of the coaching team at the middle-school, I join with the other coaches in being available to you at convenient times to discuss matters relating to your student athlete.
Here is the game and practice schedule.
Please read the following points with your student athlete so that everyone knows the basic ground rules.
Practice will start on Monday, January 4, 2010 at 3:00 in the Middle School gym.
1. No late bus transportation. Student athletes will be responsible for their own ride home each night. Please be on time to pick up your student after each practice and especially after each away contest.
2. Athletes must have athletic physical card or alternate year physical card turned in on/before first practice.
3. The activity code booklet will be handed out the first day of practice to those athletes participating for the first time. Code agreement sheet must be signed and returned by first practice.
3. Click here for practice schedule and game schedule. All middle school athletic schedules can also be viewed by going to the following website: Coulee conference
4. Athletes will display appropriate and responsible behavior when at practice, games and when riding the bus.
Other important issues:
1. Follow the Viroqua Middle School Athletic Code Handbook.
2. Be on time for practices games. Written/verbal (phone call) excuse to coach when missing practice. Haircuts, birthday parties, shopping, etc. are not considered to be excused absences. Unexcused absences could result in missed quarters/games.
3. Work to the best of your ability.
4. Display a positive attitude.
5. Inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated.
Sincerely,
Frank Kroncke
