Jim Wallis is a bestselling author, public theologian, speaker, preacher, and international commentator on religion and public life, faith and politics. His latest book is The Great Awakening: Reviving Faith & Politics in a Post–Religious Right America (HarperOne, 2008). His previous book, God's Politics: Why the Right Gets It Wrong and the Left Doesn't Get It (Harper Collins, 2005), was on the New York Times bestseller list for 4 months.

Jim Wallis' appearance is a collegial program and recommended by PWH.

MAC's EXPERIMENTAL COLLEGE COURSE

"Peace Criminal or War Criminal - how do you evnision your life in the Age of the War on Terror?"

Meet with the "Minnesota 8," the convicted felons who served time in federal prison for raiding draft boards throughout Minnesota in 1970. Their story is told in "Peace Crimes: the Minnesota 8 vs. the war." The course objectives include histoircally grounding present crises (moral, political, constitutional, etc.), relating the impact of Resistance and serving time in prison to their lives, discussing how to move forward as peacemakers and Resisters in the throes of globalization, among others.

This course is developed in cooperation with Mac's American Studies department.
